Water pump remove
Hi,
I have searched posts but found dead links in them to "Autozone" and one pretty flimsy instruction for the removal of the power steering pump which is where I'm stuck for 3 days...on a friends property! I can't find the 2 bolts bolts to remove it and it is the final link I believe to clear the last water pump bolt.(The original post said "all done from top of engine").All pulleys-mounts are removed as is the alternator. When I look straight in at side of engine I see this BIG aluminum bracket which goes from just above the WP to way down to below it and back to far left of it? It seems as tho' that whole bracket has to be removed, but not according to the posts I've read. A couple of pictures would be VERY helpful at this point. I have the '92 service manual and it's pretty well useless for pics in that area. HOTZ where are you

Re: Water pump remove
The bolts are behind the pulley & the hokes in the pulley will allow you to access them. Best to do it from passenger side fender-well. Torque to 20 ft lbs when you install them.

Does the aluminum bracket have to be removed or how do you swing it away to reveal WP final bolt. It may be obvious but I'm in muddy water right now

Re: Water pump remove
It's been six years since I replaced a water pump on a 92 L67, but I do not remember removing the aluminum bracket!
