i am pulling motor to rebuild(connecting rod bearings knocking). i am leaving transmission in. i seem to have everything unbolted but motor doesnt want to seperate from tranny. looking at it from from drivers side front wheel i removed 3 bolts from left side(closest to radiator) and 2 bolts from right side. if there is a 3rd bolt near tranny at bottom i cant see it. is there another bolt or do i need to be a little more forceful. so far i have just shaken chain and i can see clearance on left side but right seems to be holding. thanks so much for any help but please dont suggest pulling tranny also as i went round and round before deciding to just pull motor.

Re: removing 3.8 engine from 99 buick lesabre
IIRC, there is one bolt near the bottom (firewall side) that you will need to remove from the right side using a 3-ft extension.

Haha, when I replaced the transmission on my 2000 It took me a whole day to figure that out. They really hid that one. Glad you got it out.
