98 Montana passenger carpet wet
When it rains outside, the passenger carpet get's soaked with water and the electronic door locks start locking/unlocking by themselves lots of times quickly after a while when it is pouring outside. Does anyone know where the water can be coming from and how to stop this?

Re: 98 Montana passenger carpet wet
.
When the carpet gets wet from rain, is it from leaky window / door seals? Or, does your vehicle's passenger side carpet get wet AFTER driving your vehicle (in the rain)? As a suggestion, crawl under the passenger side of your van and look for rust holes. And look for tears / wears in the rubber door seal as well. If needed, have someone sit inside your van and with a garden hose, spray the side of your van. If bad rubber door seals, the person inside your van might see water leaking down the inside door area. Hope these suggestions help.. . |

Re: 98 Montana passenger carpet wet
the leak is most likely gonna be across the top of the windshield molding.you can buy a tube of neoprene and start 1" from the top on one side . put an 1/8" bead up toward the top and across the top of the windshield molding where the metal top of the van and the molding meet. then go down 1" on the other side. keep a solid bead if possible. and only go down 1" on the sides as then you won't stop the drain for the water. also make sure there are no gaps on the passenger side of the molding and metal . the molding was put on the windshield before it was put in and if the installer did not use enough neoprene then it shrank and is causing the leak.this should stop the leak.

And if your doors are locking and unlocking by themselves after the rain then you probably need to fix the wiring under the carpet by the passenger side kick panel.
