Exclamation citroen engine in kombi

Hi there,
I recently fitted a Citroen ds 20 engine into my vw kombi pick up.My problem is that the gearshift works the wrong way around. Can anybody help?

I think you will have to get used to the altered shifting pattern. I know that Lancia made cars in the 50's with right hand drive and left hand drive. On some models, the shift pattern (on the column) was correct for the left hand drive cars, and simply got turned upside down when they began making the right hand drive versions of the model - later Aurelias. On the early Aurelia coupes, they were first made as right-hand drive; with the correct shifter pattern (on the column). When those were made with left hand drive, the shifting pattern was upside down. I have driven both types of Aurelias. You had to get used to it. Lanice made great cars that were fun to drive - even with having to remember where the reverse position was.
