2001 Caravan Blower Motor (Specific)
A guy wants me to look at his 2001 Dodge Caravan blower motor. I know the resistor is bad, because the motor only runs on high. I'll be changing that. He also wants me to change out the blower motor because it has started to squeal and howl. Specifically, I'm wondering what all is involved. I peeked at the service manual and it says that most 2001 models (they did a mod in LATE 2001 to prevent having to remove the entire HVAC unit) require that the whole HVAC unit be pulled as well as the entire dash. Of course, this involves recovering refrigerant, dumping the antifreeze, etc, etc.
For anyone who has EXPERIENCE, is this absolutely necessary? I'm looking for a work-around. Thanks! |

Look behind the glove box.

Re: 2001 Caravan Blower Motor (Specific)
my 01 voyager has a cover and then screws accessible below and behind the glovebox without dumping any refrigerant. I will tell you 1 screw is right next to the firewall be careful not to break the damper door for the outside/recirc air as it surrounds the moter partially
