Can anyone help me find these rims?

Howdy from Texas:

I'm modeling the last one built of the Callaway Speedsters.

Sorry I don't have an image, but here's a webpage that shows the car.

http://corvettefever.automotive.com/...ter/index.html

I don't need a perfect match, just a set that looks convincing. I've looked at Fujimi and Aoshima wheel sets, but couldn't find them there. Crazy Modeler had a set that comes close, but I'm not yet prepared to buy them yet as I am convinced I've seen them in a kit before, possibly Tamiya.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Can anyone help me find these rims?

I was going to say check the callaway speedster kit for them. But took a send look at the kit and noticed the wheels aren't very accurate Check the older Fujimi wheel sets. They do look somewhat familiar, but will only be close.

Re: Can anyone help me find these rims?

Thanks for your help. I'm building this kit, but a production version of the car and not the prototype as is in the box. The rims were standard on the prototype and an option on Callaway corvettes for those years, but their high price tag made them rare so many of these cars sport aftermarket wheels.

Interestingly, including the prototype, there were only 12 Speedsters built, including two ZR-1 version, but they all are different owing to rims choices and owner preferences.

Re: Can anyone help me find these rims?

They aren't so far away from some rally design wheels, like OZ 5 spokes... maybe a little work over such base could bring satisfying result...
some escort cosworth also used 5 flat spokes but I couldn't swear they exist in the 1/24 scale.

Re: Can anyone help me find these rims?

The wheels from the Revell Nazca also share a similar 5 spoke design but the spokes are a bit too narrow; it'd take a bit of work to widen them evenly.

Re: Can anyone help me find these rims?

Tamiya F40 Monteshell has wheels with similar spokes, but rim and bolt pattern are different.

Re: Can anyone help me find these rims?

I had done a search earlier on the forum for Callaway Speedsters and ran across this thread...

I've tried to contact the originator of this post but have not been able to. These would be just right. Do those rims ring a bell with anyone?

Re: Can anyone help me find these rims?

regarding the Revell Nazca wheels.

As far as I can see, they are the only wheels with the correct curved outer rim profile.
I've got one of these kits built on a shelf. I'll get a better picture of it for you because you can't see that clearly on that previous image I found.

The other more accessible option is to modify a similar spoke pattern wheel which is the more likely option because the Nazca kit is quite hard to get hold of these days.

Re: Can anyone help me find these rims?

Thanks again DM for your help. Those Nazca's are hard to find. Good news is I have two, bad news is the bodies are warped beyond hope. Same with my two Monogram Bugatti EB110's.

Wow, those look pretty good. Does anyone know how wide they are? Do they come with brakes?
