Removing harmonic balancer/pully
I am trying to replace the Crank Sensor on my 1998 Intrigue V6 3800.
I was able to remove the bolt on the crank but I can not get the pully/harmonic balancer off. I have tried several pullers that I rented from Autozone but they do not seem to work. Am I doing something wrong or do I need a special puller? Does anybody know a better way of doing this? |

Re: Removing harmonic balancer/pully
There are two holes in the crank pulley. I think the thread pitch is 6x1.0 you'll need to get some fairly long bolts from the hardware store. You will also probably have to chase the threads in the pulley as well. I use my Steering wheel pulley for these and it works slick. Bolt the puller to the pulley and start cranking.
