Question oil pressure trouble

Have a 2000 montana shut it off last night and then went to fire it up this morning and it started ticking like no oil getting to top end it has dummy light , was wondering where sender is mounted so i could pull it and see if it has pressure ,also how is oil pump driven is it a shaft or gear and is there some way i could see if it is turning? this is first vehicle ive had with v6 am used to 350s not the first time ive worked on motors any help would be great thanks

Re: oil pressure trouble

Oil Pressure sender is located on the left side of the engine (front). It is located between the oil filter and starter. The oil pump is shaft driven.

have pulled sender and oil is pumping but the oil is not making it to the top end am not sure if that is a common problem and wondering what would cause that thanks again
