Need to get an engine out - Big Problem!

Hey guys, ran into a big problem. I got my 2001 pontiac engine all ready to get pulled, and it can down to seperating the torque converter from the fly wheel, but the engine is frozen solid. NO turn on the crankshaft. It got really hot, I think it melt the piston and rings in one cylinder. Anyways, I can't get at all the torque converter bolts. What is the best way for me to get them undone? If I pull the pan and the main cap closest to the flywheel, will that give me enough room?

That kinda sucks !
Have you tried using a socket and long bar on the crank to rotate it ?? If you did, and it wouldn't move, try turning it the other way.

You might also be able to use some realy long wrenches to reach the other flywheel bolts.
Though I do not think dropping the pan would help, unless you removed the rod cap to the piston that is stuck and then turned the crank.

Good Luck !

Not sure if this is going to help, but since you are in difficult situation any suggestion is good. Try some engine oil in each of the spark plug openings, then try to use big breaker bar on the crankshaft bolt, and if you have to remove caps try for #3 first, then for #4 if it does not work. 3 and 4 are the hottest cylinders on v6 since they are surrounded by other cylinders, and they would melt first if you think that is what happened.

Since the engine is toast any ways, why not pull the heads and see if you can pound the stuck piston down with a slege hammer?
