OEM vs KYB shocks

Purchased KYB shocks & struts. Began dis-assembly of rear shocks and it appears that the rear shocks needs a grommet/bushing kit on top to keep thinner shaft from banging around. We re-installed the originals back, for now.

Is there a kit for this?

Also mechanic that was doing it suggested not KYB as from his experience they wear out quickly and nowhere as good as originals. Does anyone know the manufacturer & part number of these?

What has anyone else's experience been with these replacements?

Thanks, Mark

KYB makes the originals so your mechanic is a moron.
