04 Cavalier rubbing noise
Hi hope someone can help me first my car is 2.2 L ecotec tranny is 4T40E
now the noise I been hearing is from the front end by the accelerator roughly I have already change the hub/bearing, it happens at speed over 30k also get louder with speed, with tranny engaged or coastin on neutral can anyone help Thank you |

Typically a bad wheel bearing would be described as growling or grinding, not rubbing. I have seen brake rotors that were completely rusted over make a rubbing sound, or a splash shield rubbing on a tire, or something rubbing on a CV shaft. You might have to put the car up on jack stands and have someone "drive" the car while you crawl around under it looking for the noise.
EDIT: After you have it on stands, leave the floor jack (dont use the spare tire jack) under the pinch weld and just contacting it. You want the weight on the jack stands, but you can never be too careful when you're under the car with the wheels in motion. And that remind me, have someone else IN the car while you're doing this, if it slips at all they can hit the brakes. Don't use cruise control!!!
