Tamiya Lancer Evo 6

Hello,

it's the Tamiya Lancer Evo 6 built box stock, exept the wheels and the paint. 4 Coats of Tamiya Clear Red (X27) over Gun Metal (X10). The rims are 18 inch Fujimi OZ Superturismo. The front is lowered a bit by using the struts of the Evo 6 WRC kit.

When taking the pictures I realized that the car - no the model - has no filler neck.......... :-(
:-) :-)

Please feel free to give some comments!

cheers Sebastian

Re: Tamiya Lancer Evo 6

I took some more pictures. Tried to capture the candy look of the paint.

Filler neck? Beautiful colour!!! Great finish! This is my favorite bodystyle for the lancer.

Great paintjob. I'm surprised the clear red over gun metal looks so light. Did you tint the rear windows? What did you use?

Excellent paint work. I too would like to know how you tinted the rear windows - did you spray Tamiya Smoke?

Re: Tamiya Lancer Evo 6

Thank you for your comments

I don't know if "filler neck" is the correct word. I guess it's not. I mean that you can't refuel the car because there is no "fuel door" or cover for the fuel tank cap.

I used automotive tinting foil for tinting the windows. It's applied on the outside of the windows. If the windows aren't to curvy it works quite good.

Nice model! The headlights, the intercooler, the seats - everything looks very realistic, and the color is great.

Crazy colour, very imaginitive.

As for the fuel filler cap, Tamiya did not mould this onto the body. They just supplied a decal to 'represent' the fuel filler cap. I scribed one in on my own Evo, but it would not be worth ruining such a great paint finish.
