weird radio problem

so i replaced my factory stereo with a new stereo in my 98 neon . bought the adapters and everything seemed great . got in my car the next day and it powers up but no sound until I opened the passenger side door and then like magic it worksno problem for like a month. but now it does this all the time ive tryed a few things it is definitly the opening up of the door that allows it to work again it doesnt cut out immediately sometimes i can go for hours sometimes only a few seconds b4 i lose the sound. i have noticed that right before it happens i hear a slight hiss like a power surge or something im thinking maybe a barewire on the door speaker. oh yea it seems to be worse in wet weather .

Re: weird radio problem

sounds like a short in the door speaker wires trace them from the speaker to the rubber boot between the door and the car
