Question Two Questions

Can anyone tell me the correct procedure for recharging the AC on a 2000 yukon xl? Once a year i have to recharge this thing and im starting to think im not doing it right. Also i have a leak coming from the tail of the trans assuming thats the transfer case? Where do i refill it and what goes in it? I heard tranny fluid then i heard some special auto trak stuff. Thanks

Re: Two Questions

If you are charging yearly, you have a pretty good leak, and running low on refrigerant will damage the compressor, since the refrigerant movement keeps the compressor lubricated, look at the "belly" of your compressor, is it oily/greasy? If so, there is your leak.

Charging with recharge kits can only be done on the low side- it is impossible to hook it up any other way.

Re: Two Questions

Do you know how many pounds should be in it? Does the rear system have to be charged separately? I am asking because even when i do charge it, its never super cold if i am sitting still.

Re: Two Questions

Full system charge is 48 ounces- that's 3 lbs even- only one place to put it in for both....
