1994 jeep GC 5.2v8 ignition? relay?

I have a 94 jeep grand cherokee limited with 5.2v8, intermitant problem of turning the key to start jeep and turns over many times, turn the key off and back to on position while listening(usually 1-3seconds) for a relay to start to click under the hood then continue to start the jeep with no problem. fuel pump relay? computer? ideas?????????

When you turn the key on the first time, are you letting the fuel pump run before you try to start? I've had a couple vehicles that needed 1-2 secs to charge the fuel system before starting.
