Pontiac GTO and Lamonte

what is the difference? i saw a lamonte and was gonna tell my little brother that it was a GTO.then it said lamonte on the side and it confused me

you sure it said lamonte and not lemans..the lemans was the same car..the gto was was an sport option package and the lemans was the middle of the line and then the tempest was the base model...something along those lines..but basically all 3 are the same car..just different options (interior,engine, trans, exterior trim..etc).
if indeed it was a lamonte...maybe its a cross hybrid of a monte carlo and a lemans...or a mexican version of the lemans. ive seen a few weird named cars that were identical to the american named version, but were named tagged differently because they were from mexico or other countries
