Dually rotors

Hey everyone,
I have a 1984 C30 Silverado 2wd. I have the dual rear wheels but regular rims on the front. I would like to convert the front wheels to use the dually rims mainly for looks and also just to have one spare. Is it a question of just buying the rotors and installing or do other things such as spindles have to be changed?
Thanks,
Will?

Re: Dually rotors

Well, from my quick searching, it appears that new rotors may be all you need to accommodate the dual wheel's offset. I didn't see any different part numbers for the caliper or control arms, but couldn't find out if there are different spindles. For sure you'll have to change them because it will have to be longer to reach through the deeper rotor hub. Should be easy to find in a used parts yard from a cargo van/truck, etc. Good luck!

Re: Dually rotors

I went to car-part.com and looked up a spindle for a c30. all of the replacements they list come from c30's. I think the spindles and control arms are differant from the c10's to the 20s and 30s. I'm pretty sure the ball joints are larger on the 20 and 30 series trucks also. check with your local junk yard for exact interchange pieces. There should be a bunch of those parts available. Good luck.
