Creak while turning

2001, 3.4L, 75k miles.
Just replaced wheel hubs, struts, strut mounts, got an alignment, and rotated rotors.
However, I just noticed today that when I turn my wheel (primarily to the left) I hear a faint creaking coming from the drivers side. I can't tell if it is coming from down by the suspension or more towards the steering column.
Any ideas?

Re: Creak while turning

Did you do the work DIY or have a shop do it? Sometimes it is not uncommon to have the front upper strut mount and load bearing make some noise until it gets settled in. If it continues try removing and reinstalling the strut assembly.

Re: Creak while turning

It was a DIY. I had about 300 miles on it before it started creaking. Also, the creak is only coming from one side. I wasn't sure if maybe it was some bushings going bad or what.
You think spraying some silicon lubricant from the top side of the upper strut mount would help?

Re: Creak while turning

You could give it a try. I used silicone type lubricant like you use on sway bar bushings but that will require removing the strut. The other area to check is the lower control arm bushings. There are two.

Re: Creak while turning

I had that in mine a few years ago and found a tech service bulletin that said you need to go to the dealer and get some oil made by a company by the name of Kluber. You squirt that into the caliper between the piston and boot and it goes away. I did it and walla, no more creaking. Weird but true.
