98 Buick LeSabre 3800 (k) engine

Hello,
When you take the intake manifold off, there is a twisted bar on the top of the engine. I think it is the harmonic balance shaft? It goes from front to rear of engine. Should there be just a little play in that shaft? Mine has it. Reason I am asking is I am down to that part of the engine and thought I would ask.
