96 GA acting up

Car: 2.4L DOHC
320,000mi
AT

ok, the car is running fine, but when idling and try to race engine, the motor bogs down, and when driving between 1000-1500 RPMs the RPMs are everywhere between just starts bouncing, but as soon as i get past 1500 the car drives like normal. Replaced FPR, MAP Sensor, and TPS

Good millage,

-try new pcv valve, for bouncing idle (it can check as OK. when cold, but it can stick when warm and can create large vacuum leak).
-clean and check Maf for bogging problem

When maf is disconnected or faulty engine will choke every time you press the gas pedal and after certain lrpm evel it will act normal.

not it, the oil air seperator is clean as a whistle, also the car does not have a MAF sensor, so im going out to look for a couple pounds of C4 to blow the car up with

If all this happened after map sensor replacement, check map again if everything is connected correctly.

Re: 96 GA acting up

im done with the car, im pulling the motor out of the 99 grand am sitting in the back, i know that one has no problems, wont drive that car because the only thing good on it is the powertrain, sister got rearended and destroyed the everything from front doors back, so its either this motor or a v8 is going in and the car will become rear wheel drive, ive done this before for racing so it isnt that hard

Re: 96 GA acting up

bogging can also be a fuel issue, like the filter or low pressure.

good luck with the C4

i was hoping it wasnt this, but oh well, the head and block both crack

the head cracked after the #4 cylinder, and the block under the exhaust manifold, head gasket blew and never even acted like it normally would, but now im moving on to my next project 1972 Buick Estate wagon with a 455, so its time for some fun
