Code P0172 and P0175 on 2002 Taurus
I am a new member to this forum and I am chasing down a problem on my wifes 02 taurus. It has a slight stumble at idle and has had for a while. It developed a stumble on acceleration and threw code P0172 and P0175. Both banks running rich. I have replaced the throttle position sensor earlier and the MAf today. Where should I look next? When it runs right it runs well it just has those codes and the stumble. Thanks for any help.

Re: Code P0172 and P0175 on 2002 Taurus
Check the fuel pressure. If it is high, look at the fuel pressure regulator. It should be around 40 psi key on and engine off. Should be around 30 with the engine running.

I checked the pressure, 40 psi on the rail at idle. Any other suggestions?

Might try reading the MAF sensor to see what it is telling you. Possibly dirty and not reading the correct an=mount of air flow causing the rich condition. It will usually set a lean code though.

Re: Code P0172 and P0175 on 2002 Taurus
The Maf sensor is new as of yesterday. I worked on the car last night and found the pcv valve hose cracked. I taped it up to seal it off and it went a while before setting a code today on my Wifes drive to work. I am going to replace it tommorow. It is running better then when I started but still throwing codes and not running perfect.
