Type - R DC2 (Opinions)
Hey There,
I am just curious what are your opinions on DC2 1996+ Integra Type R's? Handling, Performance, Braking, Pro's, Con's .. the whole lot.. ![]() thanks.. g/f is looking at getting one. ![]() THanks! |

Well, all I have to say is that the DC2 ITR is the best performance bang for your buck for under $25,000. It eccelerates great (about 14.9 sec on 1/4 mile) and it has a stiff and aggressive suspension. Plus, it does have a high-revving engine (which I find kinda cool). However, I'd have to say it isn't much different from the GSR, hp and torque-wise. It outputs 195 hp @ 8000 rpm and 130 lb-ft @ 7000 rpm. The GSR also costs thousands less. Don't get me wrong, though. These two cars are totally different. One of the sacrifices you'll have to make for the ITR is that you won't receive a sun roof. And of course, it oversteers quite easily under trail braking. Most of this is JUST my opinion though. Oh yea, I live in the states so we get the weaker version of the ITR. Sucks for us conservative freaks.

we didnt get any itr's in 96.
and 97's are really rare doubt anyone on this board owns one. actually i dont think anyone here has a type r. old or new style
