Good tires for snow, dirt roads...
Everything on my 2003 Venture is screwed, I need to rebuild the tranny, new brakes, shocks and tires. I got a line of credit to fix all this so I'm looking at tires. I want something that is good in the snow, I was looking at Yokohama (sp) Geolanders, apparently they fit, and they are deep lug tire. Any one have good experiance with a certain brand.

Re: Good tires for snow, dirt roads...
I used Hercules Polar Trax in the past. We used to have a tire shop attached to our shop and the tire guy told me that was all he used. I liked them very much, but unfortunately had trouble a few years ago locating a new set in my area. I then found Winterforce made by Firestone, and was equally impressed at their handling and operation in the snow with my Venture. Our area gets a lot of snow (usually 150"+ a season), so good snow tires are a necessity. I am so impressed by these tires, they are the only ones I'll buy now, and their price is excellent too. epinions.com rated them highly also:http://www.epinions.com/review/Winte...t_179612454532 as well as tirerack.com's customer reviews. I purchased a new set of 2 with new steel rims a few years back for just about $200 including shipping from Tirerack.
