Exclamation HARD Vibration...please help

1996 explorer.

Checked U joints, tires, rotors, engine mounts, exhaust mount.
Tranny shifts normally but here is the situation...

2 weeks ago I was driving, and when I hit about 60 mph the car had some vibration, that asted about a week then it was very subtle. Now, it vibrates so hard. At about 20 mph the vibration starts. When taking my foot off the gas and decelerating, even vefore pressing the brake, there is such a strong vibration i can see out of my mirrors or focus on anything. The entire front end and steering wheel and inside the car shakes up and down with about 1 inch of movement. The sound from inside is loud. Alsmot like an overkill rattling from a subwoofer.

If it is the tranny, what do you think it is,
or do you beleive it is something else?

Thanks all!

First off, make sure the wheel lugnuts are properly torqued. Assuming they are, you might try having the wheels balanced. Do you have the stock wheels and tires, or something aftermarket? It seems from your description that something is getting progressively loose, and it sounds like it's bad enough now that your Explorer may not be safe to be on the road. You need to have a safety inspection performed.
