Peculiar "SES" Light 92 LeSabre ??

I posted a question about a Code 41 (camshaft position sensor) last week. HotZ28 put me on the right track T-Y.

There's just one thing. The "SES" light comes on and off for no apparent reason. When it was "ON" last week, I read two codes from the dash, a 41 and 43. Early this morning I drove it on a 20 mile round trip ride and from start-up to shut-down the "SES" light never came on.

I thought that once a code was sent to the computer that it was indelible and subsequently the light followed suit. I did not have time to check to see if there were codes as I had to go to work myself. And no, I didn't repair or even "play" with the camshaft position sensor.

Is this normal...."SES" on/off ??

Thanks, Paul

OBD1 has to see the problem during a preset number of ign cycles, it usually will not have any hist. codes like obd11.
