Re: 1997 Tauras 3.0 Camshaft Position Sensor
I have a 1998 Ford Taurus with the 3.0L 12 valve Vulcan engine and automatic transmission, which intermittently gets the error code for the camshaft position sensor only in very cold winter weather. Since it never got worse, I never replaced the sensor. The camshaft position sensor is the type with two terminal pins. Has anyone else had this error code only in very cold winter weather?

Re: 1997 Tauras 3.0 Camshaft Position Sensor
Which code are you getting? It should be in the form P0123.

Re: Cam sensor troubles.
I moved this from the post dated October 2006. Started another thread with it.

Re: Cam sensor troubles.
There have been many threads related to the CPS and whether or not the special alignment tool is necessary. I don't want to make another thread on the topic here. Please use the "Search this forum" tool from the Taurus forum main page.

Re: Cam sensor troubles.
Enter "30-S2600" in the Google search window and you'll find out more than you need to know about CPS.
