need help with tranny fluid leak
a few days ago i noticed trans fluid leaking.i have not tried to find the leak yet but i looked under the truck.and if im in the front of the truck and look upder it seems to be like 6" before the oil pan but up in the bay more.what is there that could be causing this and are trans fluid leaks usually costly?

Re: need help with tranny fluid leak
Are there 2 lines running up to the radiator for cooling? That can be it.

Re: need help with tranny fluid leak
i took the metal skid plate off that blocks me from seeing under the front on the jimmy, and when i did i noticed 2 thin metal lines that looked rusted as hell.they seemed to lead up to the radiator somewhere.and seemed to be coming from around the trans some where.so could that be the trans cooler lines? and that could be the problem if they are.

Such lines often will rust out over time and leak. New lines can be bought in various lengths, already flared and with the correct fittings. The lines can carefully be bent to to match the old lines, then the fittings are attached in place of the old ones. |
