wiring a 6 pole trailer wiring harness to an 01 blazer

I have the wiring harness from the truck dangling down.

I have a thick white wire, smaller light green, brown, yellow, dark green, & light blue.

i am attempting to attach a 6 slot plug to it. from what I can gather....the white wire is the ground, yellow is the left turn light, one of the 2 greens is the right turn light.

my trailer lights will not cooperate at all. I can't seem to get it.

I have tried a few different combinations to no avail. the 6 pole plug has a 4 flat adapter that I plug into the trailer. the trailer wires are yellow, green, and 2 brown wires. Please someone help me with this damn nightmare.

6 prong round terminals?
5 round outside and one in center?

Open the plugin and look on back for wire codes to terminal.
Also chek for right stuff to right wire from vechical.
white wire to ground coded GD on plug in.
yellow is left turn code LT.
Green is right turn coded RT on plugin terminal.
Red is auxilary 12 power codes A
Blue is trailer brake coded S

Adfter you get pluged wired to code check for everything being right out of plug to trailer.

If all good check trailer lights stuff and fix or rewire as needed.

yes...and yes to both questions. the wires coming out of the blazer to connect to wiring harness...how do I connect those? the white goes to the GD connecter, the yellow goes to LT, I do not have a red wire on my vehicle wires...which green wire do i use for the RT (light or dark green)? and the light blue wire?

The trailer is a single axle with no power assisted brakes. it has a flat 4 plug connected to it with the white wire not connected to anything. the wires coming out of the trailer to the harness are yellow, green and 2 brown.

Use the green wire that flashes right turn signsal.

If only 4 wire trailer why not just wire up a 4 wire plug in?

Re: wiring a 6 pole trailer wiring harness to an 01 blazer

I had to rewire my factory trailer plug since the wire locations did not match my camper. What I did was add a 4 wire pigtail that I ran out the back of the factory connection so I now have a weathertight 7 pin and a 4 pin for those times I tow my utility trailer.

tried that. have a the flat 4 plug as well if you can tell me how to wire it instead to my blazer's wires. I couldn't get it to work either.

JUST FOLLOW THE WIRING CODE.

Green right turn
Yellow left turn
Brown tail light.
White = ground and car/truck wiring black is also used for ground.
Test plug in with test light when done.
Then make sure trailer lights are good and working and has ground also.
On trailer wiring ground I like to ground it to rear car frame and make sure trailer ground wire is grounded to trailer frame.

Trailer wiring should have only on brown.
What happened to the white ground?

Only use brown for trailer lights.

Has someone crosswired one brown to the ground?
