Video transfer??
i just got back from Etown, and i have about 45 min worth of video, thing is itd not on a digital videocamera, its on a tape camcorder, so i know there is a way to get the video on the comp, anyone here know how?

you need a capture card to capture the video onto your pc

capture card?? sounds like its something for a digital camcorder, this is a tape cam corder

Just have to play the tape on any tape recorder/VCR, but feed the output signal to your capture card (usually the RCA lines, s-vid works too).
Setting it up is not difficult at all, it's finding compatible hardware that's a bitch. I know both Dazzle and ATI offers such products but they're in the $100+ range. Probably cheapest to just go to a local place and have them do it for ya  Save the money for model supplies

Now analog inputs are coming to be standard on new high end pc's along w/ the firewire IEE 1394 inputs, my advice is to either get a new PC, or just buy a product from Dazzle which will be from 100-300 depending on which model. I know b/c my dad did this w/ his movies and put them on a DVD.
