New Tamiya Kit!

I was searching for some kits on Hobby Search and found this:

http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10088621

It's the new Nissan 370Z (Z34) with serial number 24315, I personally never liked them but it's great news from Tamiya. I guess Tamiya decided to release the Z before the Altima

Cool. Good to see that Tamiya is still making car models in 24th.

Re: New Tamiya Kit!

Yeah, great to see Tamiya still producing a 1/24 scale car in something really exciting. NOT! Who really cares about the new Z. I hope it doesn't sell well and teaches them a lesson. My two cents!

I do care about new Z. I don't understand - we complain when Tamiya doesn't make anything new, and then when they announce a new kit, you complain that they going to make it? WTF?

Certainly there are people interested in the new Z, and it is a nice car (I saw one this weekend), but there are many more cars out there that aren't being produced and would excite many more builders. I will not name any, but if you were to take a poll of everyone on automotiveforums, and take the top ten cars, I bet you the new Z wouldn't be on the top of the list.

Tamiya producing one, uninteresting car a year, in my mind equates to them not producing any new cars at all, in effect. I just write off their offering and pay attention to Fujimi and Revell's release.

Do we really need a $50 kit of the new Z. Come on...its only a smidge more exciting than their upcoming Altima release. Too each his own!

Uh, one look at the new 370Z and I was in love

I certainly care. It's a stellar improvement over the 350Z. Nobody said a Z car is to appeal to everyone. I love many cars that elicit polarizing views of styling.

If you don't understand, so what? Plenty of others will understand. Nissan did an outstanding job on the new Z car. I spent many miles driving/riding in a 350Z Track Edition, since replaced by a Cayman S. I can see why Nissan chose the Cayman as the benchmark, as the Cayman S is such an improvement over a 350Z. I hated the 350Z when it first was shown, concept and production. Seeing the car in real life I changed my tune quickly. And Nissan went and did just the right kind of upgrade to the next

Pictures don't do a 370Z any justice, in person and out on the road it's a real head-turner.

I'm glad Tamiya is doing the kit. It'll be expensive, but I'll be first in line to buy and build it. I'd certainly enjoy owning the 1:1.

I'd rather the kit be by Fujimi, based solely on comparison of GTR kits. More kit, less $$ is always good.

Re: New Tamiya Kit!

Now, the discussion to follow is that whether it'll have diecast under carriage or not But, judging from the price, I would guess that engine top would be included.

The 370Z kit is cheaper than Tamiya's R35 GT-R kit by 400 yen (before sales tax). The kit will have two dashboards for LHD and RHD, and I think it will include the usual foil transfer and pre-cut masking tapes, but probably no engine details.
