programming new remote control for 96 Impala SS
Looking for information on how i can program a new alarm remote bought from dealer. I can have the dealer do it for about $60...but like most problems i've had and fixed with this vehicle, i'd like to learn by doing. Any advice will be very helpful.

Re: programming new remote control for 96 Impala SS
There is a breakout connector in the trunk, along the left quarterpanel lip.
![]() 1) Open the driver's door window to prevent unintended lockout; 2) Locate the breakout connector in the trunk; 3) Jumper the two pins. The doors should lock then unlock; 4) Press any button on the remote. The locks should lock, then unlock. Program ALL remotes at this time. 5) Remove jumper wire, and test the function of remotes.
