96 regal crankshaft sensor?
96 buick regal 3.1 260,000km
3 days ago my car ran fine, the next day i put in my relay for a/c and my fuse for abs(took it out for the winter), and tried to start it and would not start! after some research on the web i summed up to be the crankshaft sensor (2 pin, side of the block) there are 2 on this car, the other is behind the crank pulley. gm said it is usually the one on the side of the block. so i went ahead and bought the part. got home and after some time i found it. boy is that tight!! anyways i got the bolt out and you think i could budge the sensor, nooooo! so my question is, how do you get it out? there is very little room for any type of screwdriver or a pry thing a ma jobber!! lol. thanks in advance!! rickard Last edited by rickard69420; 04-17-2009 at 07:56 AM. |

Re: 96 regal crankshaft sensor?
there is only one crank sensor the other is the cam position sensor the crank sensor is located behind the harmonic balancer it take a little time to change the cam sensor is located to the left of the water pump below the pully it take only 1/2 hr at best to change

Re: 96 regal crankshaft sensor?
hold on, before replacing the sensor you need to have it diagnosed. its free at auto zone. make sure your replacing the correct sensor. i read something in a post about there being a bolt in the block losen that bolt and it will take the pressure off the sensor. i wouldnt recommend doing that till you have researched that farther though. cause like I said. i just remember seeing something in a thread. I may not be on the right track with it.
