Worry about warping?

I know of a website that has had a few Fujimi kits listed for 2-3 years. These kits have been sitting for 2-3 years, and have not been re-stocked. The last time I got a kit from this seller(specializes in diecast) the body was warped. They now have these kits for verrry cheap. Should I worry about a warped body again?

Why don;t you just ask him to open the box and look inside?

Re: Worry about warping?

Why not? I've honestly can say I never run into a warped body from Fujimi, even with super old ebay specials, besides if they're that cheap and you find the body to be warped you could always try dipping the body in hot water and flexing them back to shape. BTW which kits did they have and how cheap are we talking ?

Re: Worry about warping?

Well it's certainly better than paying $40+ plus for it at the lhs. Besides in this day and age when Revell reboxes are retailing at $18+ a kit thats a pretty darn good price.

Re: Worry about warping?

Model kits are delivered in shipping crates, and semi-trailers. They are not treated like milk and eggs. The only way a kit would be warped is if it was crushed or the kit was known for doing that.

I had a Revell Porsche GT1 that warped it's chassis so, I got a replacement and before I got it put together the second chassis warped too. It had been stored in 90 to 100 Degree F. temperature. That is the only kit I have ever had a problem with doing that. To me warping is not a common problem as I have around 400 to build kits that I have opened and none of them have had any issues with warping.
