Electric malfunction
Yesterday after a steady rain I noticed water on the passenger floor mat (no one was on that side) and after I drive off I noticed a stream of water was fallin g on the floor from the right of the glove box. I checked to see if the windshield or seal was broken or fractured but I did not see anything. As I continued to drive I heard the power lock engaging and disengaging and when I stopped and turned off the engine and tried to lock the doors the lock would lock then unlock then lock and unlock. Where could the leak be coming from (I had no problem last week with the rain) and what can I do about the locks?
Thanks. Marty |

Re: Electric malfunction
Maybe the doorseal?
Water has the tendency to go everywere expept upwards. Anyway, the door lock control box is located above the glovebox. Big chance it's soaking. The leak could be hard to find but here's a trick for the desperate. Remove as much parts of the dash as possible, take a strong tourch sit inside your car and have somebody to use the gardenhose to simulate a real dutch summer. Then start looking fot the incoming water. Good luck. |
