ignition module and coil pack.

I wanted to know if driving at a high speed while low on gas could have finally done my ignition module and coil pack in. recently i went to work on about a 1/4 tank of gas and planned on filling up when i left work(gas station in the parking lot), but forgot and preceeded to get on the highway and go home while low on gas. well things got really bad, and my car cut off on me while in the middle of the tunnel(talk about fear), but i got out of that situation okay after about ten minutes, and the highway administration pushing me out of the tunnel after shutting it down. i tow the car home once its out of the tunnel, and have a mechanic look at it the next day. he replaces the coil pack and igntion module, and the car starts up and runs normally, but after a few minutes the car stops running, we try to start it up again, but no luck. he says to get some gas in the morning, try to start it up, and notify him of the results.

could me being low on gas have worn out them out?

Re: ignition module and coil pack.

No, but you could have damaged your fuel pump.
