idle air control ?

I own a 1999 ford escort and the check engine licht came on. I used my son's code scaning tool and it came up with " idle air control , overspeed error " What do I do now?

Did you write down the exact diagnostic code, which should be in the forum P0123? If so, can you post it here? I can check the factory service manual for suggested steps to resolve this issue, but I don't feel like going through the entire list of hundreds to try to find one or two that match this description.
