Losing faith.

So I guess I never told you guys before but about a month ago someone drove into the back of my car and put it into the car infront of me. I wasn't in it it was parked infront of my place. Then they took off leaving it for me to see on my own. That wasn't so bad. Last night I was on my way to Calgary and I went to stop for gas and the station was closed , so I decided to try to make it to the next station. Well about 25 mins out of Calgary I ran out of gas. So I left my car and started walking. A guy stopped and picked me up and took me into Airdrie (town north of Calgary) so i could get gas. I called CAA (AAA in the states) and got them to come get me to get gas for my car. I ended up waiting an hour. I should have taken a cab. BUT when i got back to my car SOMEONE HAD BROKEN IN!!! They took my stereo, my cds, my bag with my clothes and shower stuff, they even stole my ashtray. So my complaint is, wouldn't you think if your car is on a BUSY highway and broken down people would have the respect not to break in? or atleast to report someone doing so?
I had just shampooed my interior the night before and it was so clean and now there is glass all over the car! I was SPEACHLESS!

Dude, that is really rotten... but I look at it this way, if they already lack the respect to break into someones car when it's not broken down, then they probably won't have the respect when it is broken down. Thieves are bastards, and they don't care what affect they have on people, otherwise, they wouldn't do it at all.

Sorry to hear about that. Hope your insurance more than covers everything, and I hope it doesn't totally sour you on people in general. I know my car has been broken into about 7 times since I've owned it, and after a while, I just don't really trust anyone.

Now my fucking insurance company won't cover my clothes or my cds. They are only gonna give me half of what my stereo is worth because I don't have receipts for it! This is just getteing better and better!

how about having your car broken into in broad daylight? in front of where you work?

That happened to me when I had my 85 Cougar, they broke in on the passenger side (they must have used a slim jim b/c my locks were not accessable from the window being cracked (instead of changing the pulls I removed them and just used my power locks) anyway they got in and took my stereo out, my haynes manual, all of my tools and tried to get the gas out of my tank.

One night/morning when I was doing my paper route I saw a convertable geo (it was a storm) had broken down so i called the cops to report it so they'd know there was an abandoned car there, no more than two hours later I had to roll by the same spot and the wheels were gone (it was just sitting on the ground) all windows were broken, the convertable top was ripped literally off, there were clothes all over the place and graffiti all over it. I called the cops again and after they questioned me about it (ya know everybody is a suspect, especially if ya drive a tinted Honda civic like I was doing at the time) they called a roll-back... now imagine how those people must have felt.

moscow, idaho: i could leave my car unlocked on this college campus of 11,000 and it would be fine. people are more likely to take any alcohol you have than any money you have, seriously. no breakins ever.

This is another reason my car is gutted... There is literaly NOTHING to steal... Unless you want an old integra seat, a grant stearing wheel, a cf shift knob, a $20 apc strut bar (Go ahead and take that) or an ebrake handle.... I guess you could steal my door panels and save me the time of taking them off. Note to thievs: Please take dash/door panels and the other half of my roof. If you need to brake a window, break the front one... It has a fat ass crack in it and Im going to replace it anyway. Or you can just knock on my door and I will open it 4 you

i had a mazda that got broken into, and my cd player wasnt mounted or anything it was just held in there by the wires, im sure if i slammed on the brakes hard it would have flew out. but leaving it loose was the smartest thing i ever did (saved my dash from getting busted up). i all most wished i would have left the door unlocked. i look at it this way a thief is going to steal what you have no matter how hard it it to steal, so i make it easy so the dont break anything trying to get to it.

Good point yo...u might as well make it easy...they are gonna steal it regardless...and maybe it won't get busted up that way
