96 Honda accord 2.7L tranny skipping?
I have an automatic trans. It is common for a tranny to skip through all gears? I have about 130,000 miles? I will be driving and it jumps when it shifts. I have had some leaks and pretty much just make sure it is full all the time when I check it. But, even when full it skips. Especially when decelerating and turning then speeding back up. It shakes the whole car.
Do I need a rebuild or will it be ok just to drive it like it is for awhile till I upgrade the vehicle? |

You using Honda spec tranny fluid? Dexron will make them harsh, but sounds like you've got other problems.

Re: 96 Honda accord 2.7L tranny skipping?
Yes, I went to honda and bought the required fluid. It has been skipping for a long time now, and I asked someone about it one time and they just said that it is normal for honda engines with high miles. However, it is annoying, and makes me think that the tranny is going to drop at any second. It runs smooth other than during the shifting points. There are no noise or grinding sounds coming from it either. Just when it is shifting it jumps.
