Has anyone had problem with rust below the fuel door on their grand prix?
I was told that there is foanm insulation betwwen the left quarter panel and the inner panel at the fuel door. My friend had rust also on his 2001 grand prix. How did you go about the repair? Was it a permanent fix? thanks KEV |

Re: 2000 GTX rust below fuel door
I've never had the issue since I live in a dry climate. Depending on where you live others have. Here is an old thread to reference that may help. See link.

Re: 2000 GTX rust below fuel door
I had this same problem, and have seen it on numerous other grand prix's. In order to fix it, i had to have the rust sanded down, filled in, and have the panel blended. You may want to check around and have it professionally done, as paint and clear coat is not typically a DIY job, and many people who try don't succeed.

Re: 2000 GTX rust below fuel door
We've got the same problem on my daughter's 2000 GP GT. It doesn't make sense to fix the rust until the cause is corrected. I would be interested to hear from someone who has successfully fixed it.
