Hood Latch Problems

Well the other day I bent over to pull the hood latch, and for some reason it isnt popping the hood... I've tried pulling on the hood a lil then pulling it, but it still doesnt open up. Anyone had this problem before? Can anybody offer me some advice here?

Try having a friend push down on the edge of the hood while you pull the release. Also, try spraying a little wd-40 on the latch through the grill (be sure to use that little straw) if you can see it. Hope this helps, good luck.

I was having the same problem, and kinda still am. It seems to happen only when its warm for me. All you need to do is have someone push the hood down and then pull the latch. I got mine working about 90% of the time by taking a torch to the whole latch assembly (on the hood), I'm not sure wat it did, but its seems to work a lot better. You may also want to try adjusting the middle latch piece on the hood (i tried doin that on mine, but its like glued in place, which is y i tried the torch). I hope this helps.

mine use to do it all the time until one day the cable snapped, big bugger.
so then i decided to put an electric boot realse on it, scince id already put one on the boot, works the bomb. next im gonna put it on my petrol flap, i have them all hooked of a on/off swith and then a push button for the individual ones. teh best thing is that anyone that manages to break in cant get under the bonet or what not cause they cant find how to open it. main reason i put it on the hood was casue the other day i had my pod filter and pipe stolen, every door was open except the boot caseu thats on a button. mind you now i have an alarm so.

have some one press down on the hood while you pull, and once its open tighten the spring screw 1/8-1/4 turn at a time and check it... careful to not go too far b/c then its a bitch to get open again... i was having all kinds of probs with mine, the cable was starting to break and my hood wouldn't close so i went JY shopping and not a new latch cable all is great now yay

If your hood won't open you can take off your bumper and release it from below.

HMm... well thanks for the advice on pushing down while you pull. Worked out great, Now I just need a way to prevent it from sticking ever again.
