Best to check the salvage/junk yard interchange book for that info.

Re: part swaping what can I use?

Most s10 body parts exchange up to 93. I have switched numerous parts back and fourth in my s10's, such as swaping a dash out of a 86 s10 blazer into a 93 truck.
With your question about the tranny you'd probably have to use the same tranny from another 4 cyl 2.2 or 2.5. I know that a 2.8 Is a 60 degree block with bolt patterns for a 2.8, 3.1, 3.4. But I have heard you can use the 2.8's tranny on a 2.5 (i'm not for sure though).
Im pretty sure you cannot use the 700r or 4l60 from a 4.3. I could be wrong but I've owned alot of s10's and this is what I understood.
