89 toyota SR5

Just bought a decent toyota pickup, drove it down to the store went inside and came back out, tried to start it but it didnt want to start. I get full power its just when i hit the ignition it tries to turn over then no power at all, untill i let go of the ignition then i get full power again. i saw sparks come from either the cold start ingector (i think) or the starter. I went down later to tow the car, and it fired right up. Is it posible for a starter to come back to life, or is this maybe a eletrical problem?

I belive my starter went out but im not sure, perhaps somone can help me. I have full power until i hit the ignition then no power until i let gor or sometimes need to turn key all the way to left, to orignal start position then turn electrical power back on, i think its the starter because i have full power. If it was the altenator i would have no power right?
