Carb back fire when engine is excellerated,need help.

I have an 81 vette. Just put a new carb quadrajet on. When engine is excellerated it starts to pop, and kick. Checked timing. put new plugs, wires, rotor. and cap. Have any ideas?

I would check the compression you may have a cracked valve spring or worn valve guide.

Make sure you have the vacuum advance hose connected to a ported vacuum source (above the throttle plate), my other thought would be to check the choke and verify that as you're opening the throttle, the choke is also opening. I've seen the choke sticking near closed causing similar symptoms.
