valve cover oil leak?
I have a 2002 chrysler voyager, 105,000 miles. I think I have a valve cover oil leak. oil seems to be over the length of the engine on the backside. Also see a spot or two from the front side valve cover. Is the there anything else on the backside that would leak like that? Also, what else should i do while i have everything off. I plan on changing plugs, wires, pcv valve, maybe the oxygen sensor while i have it all off.
In addition i am going to be dropping the transmission pan and replacing that gasket with RTV as it is leaking tranny fluid. i plan on doing the trans filter then as well. Thanks Matt |

Re: valve cover oil leak?
back valve cover leakage on them motors is very common(a lot of heat build up).The only other place it could leak back there is the head gasket which isn't likely. You have to take the wiper cowl off in order to remove the valve cover. It's easy just watch out for rusted nuts.
