Steering wheel/ignition locked

I have tried yanking the steering every which way to get the ignition to turn, as well as the shifter (automatic 2003) Seems like something is jammed or broken. Is there a way I can get this to work just once to get the thing to my driveway so I can dissassemble it and lube it or replace it, I assume the locking mechanism from ignition to steering wheel is somehow failing. Anyone have any tips for me and is this common?

This happened once on my 93 limited. Got out and rocked it back and forth a couple of times and was able to start. Never happened again?
