Will it fit? Yes. Will it live? Well, yes and no. Depends - some of them were the same for both but others were not built as strong for a 4.3 as for a 5.7.

Put a Transgo kit in it, will go a long ways towards resolving the few internal differences.
It is the same tranny though. Year makes a MUCH bigger difference, try and get the same year if you can as each year 94-96 was actually a little different.
