engine management questions

i am gonna be takeing a long trip to new mexico this summer and im getting my car ready. its a 12 hour long drive. my cars got 200 thousand miles on it. im changing the water pump, oil pump, belts and when i get closer to the trip spark plugs and wires. but what i really want is a reliable engine management system thats easy to use that displays vitals like oil pressure, water temp...etc. ive seen a few good ones on 3sx. the emange ultimate, itsa kinda piggyback one with a lot of features. but i just want something i can plug into my odb and watch over vitals, any suggestions?

Re: engine management questiona

Dont go piggy back just to watch gauges. A piggyback is overkill for a na. Just glance at your gauges every once in a while.

Emanage also doesnt plug into the OBD port. You have to wire it in with the ECU. You can see about getting a datalogger but again thats a little overkill for a NA in my opinion.

You'd either have to make one, then get the software, or buy one for $250 from Shiver on 3si.

Re: engine management questiona

Yes, a datalogger plugs directly into your OBD port.

Re: engine management questiona

Datalogger is NOT an EMS. It only does what its name implies, it logs.

There is one available from Shiver on 3si, one from Hand Held Halo, or Gatecrasher posted up a how to on making your own for a 94 or 95.
