2005 z-71 sierra ext.cab 45000 brakes are starting to squeek. does this mean new pads??if so how hard are they to change?never done brakes before but do to the economy i may have to give it a try> thanks

Take the wheels off and look, how else can you tell what is wrong, the how to on the job can be found at autozone.com, repair guides.

thanks , i looked up auto zone repai guide but, they didn.t have anything for 2005 gmc sierra. thanks anyway

The autozone site does not let you get info on newer stuff for free, but brakes are about the same on just about any type of car, as long as they are the same type. Meaning disc is all similar and drum is all similar. The way the caliper is held on may vary, but all in all its not hard to figure out once you get down there and check it out. Try the autozone site for a few diff cars and you will get a few diff pics to show you what you will be getting into.
