No 5th gear

I turned off the highway and when I went back through the gears and to 5th nothing just like neutral,all the rest are fine

Could be a linkage problem. Any grinding or noise or anything odd happen?

I had the same problem,the snapring holding 5th gear on the output shaft was broken.
