Question computer problem.

Wanted to find out if anyone has had a problem on their LS. I own a 2005 Lincoln LS v6 and cannot seem to find out what is the going on with my car. All front lights, enterior lights, horn and passenger side mirror is not working. Checked all the fuses but still cant figure out what could cause that problem. Please help.

Re: computer problem.

This is not a computer problem. Check your fusible links, they should be in a power distribution box located in the engine compartment I would think. That's more than likely the problem if all your fuses was good. One of your fusible links has burnt up.

Re: computer problem.

On the LS the main distribution panel is in the trunk near the battery. Check the fuses for the Front Electronics Module (FEM).

Re: computer problem.

I took my car to the dealership and figured out it was the FEM. Do you think it costs about $800 to replace? Do you have any suggestions.
Thanks.

Re: computer problem.

You're probably somewhat stuck with the FEM, if it's really bad. The service manual indicates that a new FEM needs to be programmed to the car. Ford electronics tend to be pretty reliable though, I hope the dealership troubleshoots appropriately before scrapping the FEM. If you have them replace it, I'd suggest you ask to keep the original FEM in case it doesn't fix it.
